Hardened steel DN 7.4 safety air coupling socket with a 6 mm hose pillar connection. A pneumatic coupling is used to quickly connect air tools to a compressed air line. The coupling requires two parts: the socket (female) and the plug or nipple (male part). When disconnected, the coupling automatically shuts off to maintain the line pressure.
These safety couplings release the down-line air pressure at the plug side in a safe, controlled manner by pushing the button on the socket. The plug will not be released before the pressure at the plug side reaches a safe low level. This prevents the risk of a dangerous bull whip effect which may cause damage to man and machine. We recommend to use hardened steel plugs with these couplings. Easily mount a hose over the 6 mm hose pillar. Optionally, order a hose clamp for proper fixation of the hose. The operating pressure range is 0 to 12 bar. The socket is suitable for temperatures between -20 to 70°C. The rated flow rate is 1500 l/min. The seal material is NBR (nitrile rubber). The hardened steel housing has a galvanic/electrolytic zinc plated surface protection.
